If you are interested in learning about the ingredients commonly used in

The article "Joint Supplements: The Good, Bad, and Useless" was first released in 1998 by Dr. David F. Davenport, DVM, MS, MS (Human & Animal Nutrition), CNS; Dr. Michael Bishop, MD, PhD Pharmacology & Biochemistry, FACOG; and Dr. James Blackford, DVM, MS, dACVS; updates with Dr. Jim Bailey, PhD Nutrition; edited and kept updated by Terry Mercer.
This website was last updated on September 2024
Earlier versions of the articles have been published in many different magazines over the years. Both human and animal relates, mostly those focused on the science of health & nutrition.
This content is the result of thousands of hours, over the last 27+ years, by many professionals actually doing research, sorting through scientific abstracts, journal articles, research papers, and the latest findings released... as well as talking to thousands of end-users, patients, and clients over the years.
We thought it would be more beneficial to actually learn how to contact those interested in the science of Nutrition, Benefits of Health, and the Reality of Marketing Hype (vs Ethical Solutions). Signing up gives us a way to share updates, new information, products (good or bad), and anything else we think is helpful in the future.
We try to email about two to six times a year. Questions & suggestions are always welcome!

What started as just 4 pages in 1998, has grown to more than 40 printed pages of information, with the addition of 'new' ingredients being actively marketed and promoted for joint issues and arthritis treatments. Such as: Oral HA, MSM, Cetyl-myristolate, CBD Oil, and some 'herbal remedies.'
There have been many teachers, students, and regular citizens that have actively used the nutritional information in the article, and websites (mdschoice.com, vetsupplements.com, herbsaredrugs.com, jointsreport.com, etc.) to help improve their life (and/or that of their family, friends, and even pets).

And we get questions every day.
